Data protection at Geosfair UG

1. What data does Geosfair collect?

Geosfair collects and stores the following personal details for the purpose of establishing and implementing the contract concluded with you for the usage of Geosfair and the acquisition of units\:

Mandatory details during registration: access names, surname, first name, e-mail address, password; data on the payment systems such as PayPal.

If you have opted to pay by credit card or direct debit, we also collect and store your credit card and bank details.

We also save the data that you provide us with on a voluntary basis during registration.

With Facebook Connect, Geosfair stores the data released by facebook.com pursuant to the data protection provisions there.

We also collect and store transaction-based data in connection with the purchase of units (cf. Clause 1.1 of the General Terms and Conditions of Business). These relate to the number and the price of the units acquired and the time of the purchase and the access name of the Geosfair member who acquired the units.

To optimise the Geosfair offering and for technical reasons, we also save technical information collected during the usage of Geosfair, in particular what type of browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Google Chrome) and what operating system (e.g. Windows XP or Mac OS X) you use, the type and manner of your network connection and your IP address.

For unrestricted use of Geosfair, it is necessary to save certain information on your computer in the form of so-called cookies in order to record information about your usage. This information is not person-based and does not permit any conclusions with regard to the user’s identity. This information can include details on the reaction of the person using Geosfair on your computer to certain details, advertising and product information.

2. Duration of data storage

Geosfair stores your data for as long as it is necessary for the respective purpose pursuant to these data protection provisions or for the storage period you have agreed to by means of a corresponding declaration towards Geosfair.

Data required for billing purposes will be deleted at the latest six months after the invoice has been sent, unless there are any suspicions of misuse, objections to the invoice or problems with the payment processing.

Data required for fulfilling and handling the contract will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required. For your protection, the user’s name and bank details will be stored for up to six months after termination of the membership and used in the automated checking of new contractual relationships. The longer storage period aims to prevent your data being misused by third parties for registration. If you do not wish this longer storage period, you can revoke this even after termination of the contract.

Please note that the revocation of the data use for the purpose of fulfilling the contract concluded with Geosfair will result in its termination.

3. Changes to the data protection provisions

If the content of these data protection provisions should change, we will announce this to you with a corresponding notification using the means of communication possible pursuant to the General Conditions of Business (cf. Clause 2.3 there) at least 30 days beforehand.

4. Use of your data by third parties

Geosfair uses your personal data only for the specific purposes given under 1. within the scope required in each case. Geosfair only forwards your personal data to third parties to the extent that this is necessary for fulfilling the purposes given under 1. Third parties within the meaning of this provision do not include companies that Geosfair uses to meet its performance obligations in the area of order data processing.

Any forwarding to third parties for purposes other than those given under Clause 1, in particular for purposes of advertising, is only permissible with your prior explicit permission (consent). In particular, Geosfair does not forward your bank and payment details to third parties unless you authorise Geosfair to do so.

Geosfair may transfer the collected personal details to third parties in the event of the sale or takeover of individual services or of the company. The information will be treated according to the data protection declaration and will be the subject of appropriate non-disclosure obligations.

If you are a user of Geosfair and use its applications and services to disclose personal information, third parties may gain access to this information. Incidentally, personal data can be disclosed in individual cases due to mandatory law, e.g. due to a decree by a judge in investigative or criminal proceedings. The same applies if Geosfair has grounds for suspicion that offers and services of Geosfair are being used in connection with the committing of criminal offences, or should it be necessary for the purpose of defending the rights of Geosfair.

5. Changes in personal data

As a fundamental principle, only you and the employees of Geosfair who need access to this data to carry out their tasks have access to your personal details saved by Geosfair. Geosfair grants you access to the data you specified during the registration process and the option to adapt or change your data as required.

As the processing of customer-specific settings and their implementation can take some time, it may be the case that a certain amount of time, usually no more than two hours though, may lapse between the setting being made and its activation.

6. Information about personal data

You have the right to request information from Geosfair about your personal data stored at Geosfair at any time. Should you find that Geosfair is storing incorrect data about you, Geosfair asks you for notification to this effect so that it is able to correct any errors. Requests for information and for modifications can be sent to

Geosfair may refuse to process inquiries if these are repeated without substantiation or made improperly or if answering them would necessitate a disproportionate amount of technical effort or if answering them could infringe the individual rights of third parties.
